4. Winner Selection. One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected from all eligible entrants. The Winner will be determined based on the most points accumulated. Each round of the Contest is worth 64 points. There are 6 rounds that total up to 384 points. First round games are 2 points each. Second round games are 4 points each. Third round games are 8 points each. Fourth round games are 16 points each. Fifth round games are 32 points each. Final championship game is worth 64 points.

The grand prize winner will be selected as being the one with the most number of points. In the event of a tie between two (2) or more entries based on scoring, the highest ranking will be determined by the following tiebreakers, in order of listing:
Tiebreaker #1 - Total Number of Correct Games Picked
Tiebreaker #2 - Riskiest Upset Picks?
Tiebreaker #3 - Total Number of Correct Games Picked in the First Round
Tiebreaker #4 - Random Drawing
Tiebreaker #2 calculation: Each bracket is evaluated using the exclusive risk assessor, which computes the risk of each chosen upset versus historical tournament results. The bracket that is deemed riskiest by this methodology wins this tiebreaker. Any further ties are left as ties in the standings.

The tie-breaking system above represents the default tie-breaking system. Each local media partner can choose their own scoring and tie-breaking system. If they select their own tie-breaking system and/or scoring it will be clearly stated in the local rules that will also be posted on this website.

Odds of winning prizes depend on the total number of eligible entries received and the relative College Hoops knowledge of all entrants.
